Richie Towell's season-long loan return to Rotherham from Albion has been confirmed, hours before the close of the transfer window.

The Irish midfielder has joined forces with with the Millers again after he was part of Paul Warne’s squad that won promotion via the League One play-offs last season.

Albion manager Chris Hughton said: "This loan move is another good opportunity for Richie to go out and play regularly in a highly competitive Championship.

"He had a very successful time with Rotherham last season and this gives him an opportunity to return to a club he knows well.

"I would like to wish Richie all the very best of luck and we will closely monitor his progress throughout the season."

Towell's move to Albion from Dundalk was confirmed in November 2015 after 25 goals in 32 appearances during his final season with the Irish club.

He featured 45 times and scored six goals for Rotherham last season, including the full 120 minutes of the Millers' extra-time victory over Shrewsbury Town in the League One play-off final at Wembley (below).
