Sussex paceman Ollie Robinson took four wickets in 18 balls to wreck Leicestershire’s top order at Hove.
The visitors were 20-5 at lunch after Sussex had been dismissed for 373 earlier in the second day with Robinson taking 4 for 7 in six overs.
Paul Horton was caught at slip off his second ball and in his second over Robinson trimmed Colin Ackerman’s off bail and then had Mark Cosgrove leg before playing deep in his crease.
Ned Eckersley became his fourth victim and 50th of the season courtesy of another good slip catch by Jordan while Jofra Archer picked up a wicket when Harry Dearden was caught behind off a lifter. At lunch. Robinson had figures of 4-7 from six overs.
Leciestershire were 10-5 at one stage but Neil Dexter and Ben Raine saw them through to lunch.
Earlier, the hosts had been dismissed for 373, adding a further 50 runs this morning.
Chris Jordan made 68, the fourth half-century of the innings. Ben Mike finished with 4 for 57 on his debut after dismissing Jordan with his third ball of the day.
