BEN BROWN has hailed the bowling IQ of ten-wicket Ollie Robinson after another big Sussex win.
The pace bowler, fresh from signing a new deal at Hove, bagged his second five-for in as many days to help secure the 274-run thumping of Leicestershire.
Sussex moved second in Specsavers County Championship division two as they await Kent’s result against Northants today.
Skipper and wicketkeeper Brown said: “Ollie is hitting the pitch hard, he’s bowling really good areas probably for longer periods of time than he ever has done before.
“He is a very clever bowler. He knows which way he’s moving the ball, he knows which batters don’t enjoy the ball coming in a certain direction and he really out-thinks batters at times. He is having a fantastic year – 56 wickets already. He has been excellent.”
Sussex’s fifth successive Championship win at home came with a day to spare. Brown said: “I’m delighted. It was a pretty ruthless performance in the end.”
