ALBION legends slipped their boots back on in memory of a club great today.

John Shepherd, who spent 30 years with the Seagulls in various roles, died aged 86 in June.

Former stars Charlie Oatway, Adam Hinshelwood and FA Cup finalist Steve Foster took part in a memorial match at Southwick FC this afternoon.

A stand at the Old Barn Way ground was named after Shepherd, as he managed the club twice during a lengthy career in football.

Shepherd played for Albion in the late 1950s, finishing his first season as the club’s top scorer.

He was also a youth scout with Albion, managed them and set up their first youth team.
