Sussex removed two century-makers as they strive to keep promotion hopes alive today.
Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott both departed as Warwickshire headed to 402-4 for lunch on day two of the Specsavers County Championship contest at Hove.
The pair added 230 for the third wicket as the division two leaders look to bat Sussex out of the match.
Danny Briggs broke the 77-over partnership when he had Bell lbw for 112 looking to sweep.
Trott fell to a very sharp catch by Harry Finch at mid-wicket off David Wiese after making 124.
But Sam Hain played a couple of beautifully timed drives through extra cover on the way to 43 not out at lunch.
Sussex need to win the game to keep their promotion bid alive but those hopes appear to be fading.
They could be without young batsman Tom Haines for thei reply after he damaged his ankle bowling yesterday.
