Solly March believes Albion team-mate Glenn Murray deserves to play for England.

Only Eden Hazard has scored more goals than Murray in the Premier League after the veteran marksman's winner against West Ham at the Amex on Friday evening.

March said: "Exactly, that speaks for itself. He's 35 now but he should get a chance, I don't see why not.

"He's probably on the wrong side of 30 which is disappointing for him, but I don't see why not. He's probably one of the most in-form England strikers.

"He just keeps scoring, that's what he does. He holds the ball up and he keeps scoring, that's what you get from him, and it's perfect for us.

"You know he's going to be in the box. If you get the right ball in there, he'll get on the end of it.

"He's not going to sprint on the end of balls like some people, but when he's in the box he's going to score goals and that's what you need, that's what you get from him. He's the perfect number nine really."

The Argus: March (above right) revealed to the Argus last month his long-term goal is a senior England call-up after playing for the under-21s under Gareth Southgate.

The 24-year-old, switched from left-wing to the No.10 role against West Ham, is encouraged by the number of young players picked by Southgate in his latest squad.

"It lifts you and gives you a bit of motivation to get there because you know you will get picked if you're playing well," March said.

"I need to start scoring goals more and creating more and then maybe I'll get the chance."
