Albion's record signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored in an historic victory for Iran against Bolivia tonight.

The £17 million winger was on target from close range after his initial header had been blocked by the Bolivian keeper.

His first goal in 163 days for club and country in the 2-1 friendly victory was watched by around 300 women in the crowd at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.

It was the first time female fans had been allowed into the ground in more than 40 years.

Jahanbakhsh was substituted at half-time. He made his first Premier League start in Albion's 1-0 home win against West Ham before the international break and is likely to make his full away debut at Newcastle on Saturday.
