Glenn Murray has thanked medical staff – and said he feels “much better” after his clash of heads.
Murray was treated on the pitch for six minutes after his hefty collision with Federico Fernandez in yesterday’s game against Newcastle.
He then went to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for a scan and was later able to rejoin colleagues.
Fans of both teams stood to applaud him as he was stretchered off the pitch.
Murray has expressed his thanks to Albion’s medical team and hospital staff this morning via Twitter.
He wrote: “Thanks for all the well wishes and big thanks to @OfficialBHAFC medical team and everyone at @NUFC & @NewcastleHosps #RVI Feeling much better this morning after yesterday’s events.”
Albion skipper Bruno was among the first on the scene as Murray stayed down and seemed to be trying to treat or comfort his colleague.
Bruno, whose father was a doctor, was not available for interview after the game as he also underwent treatment.
The right-back appeared to be feeling his back after an aerial challenge with Fernandez in the second half and made way for Bernardo in what looked like a largely precautionary move.
But he posted on social media: “Thank God @gajm83 (Murray) is fine.”
