MATHEW RYAN has revealed that goalkeeper coach Ben Roberts had a hand in his superb reaction save which helped Albion claim a 1-0 win over Wolves.

The Albion keeper denied Ryan Bennett in added time as the Seagulls secured a third successive clean sheet and third 1-0 win on the bounce.

It was just one of a number of excellent saves by the Australian as Wolves piled on the pressure in a desperate bid to find an equaliser after Glenn Murray struck early in the second half for his 100th goal for the club.

Ryan said: “I don’t remember much of the build up. It came from my right side and was cut across the box.

"To his credit our goalkeeper coach Ben Roberts, he is very methodical in constructing our sessions each week.

"Apart from all the basic stuff we do to stay on top of our game, he’s very persistent in painting the pictures we are going to be facing each week against the opposition we are going to be playing.

“He tries to put that in training sessions and we had that situation many times this week in training where the ball was worked into a wide area, cut across the back and you get a quick finish.

“It’s important for us to be ready for a strike. We had that one moment and thankfully, due to our work during the week, I was able to be there and get my hand out and make the save.”
