Mathew Ryan admitted Albion were not good enough at Goodison Park.

The Seagulls lost 3-1 to Everton having found a way back into the game through Lewis Dunk’s header.

Albion’s keeper was beaten twice by Richarlison and a Seamus Coleman drive just after the break which restored the home lead at 2-1.

He said: “For the majority of the game, we were second best.

“Duals, we didn’t keep the ball well enough, challenges.

“We showed character to get back in the game.

“But we came out after half-time and they had a chance off the post.

“We didn’t learn from the warning signs and they get their second and third they killed off the game in the end.

“There is no doubt they have got quality and good technical players and work hard for one another.

“But the onus is on us. We have had plenty of experiences to know what it takes to come to places like this and get results.

“I didn’t think we stuck to our level for as long as was needed to take something from this match.”
