How Albion's players rated against Crystal Palace...
Beaten by a well-taken penalty and very little to do until the final minutes, when he reassured fans with a big claim at the far post.
Martin Montoya 7
Back in the side for Bruno and was a nimble presence down the right. Competed well with Zaha when the Palace men pulled wide.
Had started pretty well and of course, he has been immense for Albion. But a moment of madness in front of the ref and the away end could have been costly.
A huge presence at the back, even when his normal sidekick saw red. Led the defensive effort as Palace pressed and led the celebration at the end.
Bernardo 8
His athleticism and his poise on the ball are proving real assets. Made a super goal-line clearance at 2-0 and was a big part of the rearguard effort.
Defends so well for a winger. A terrific shift going forward and in defence when needed crowned by his effort to win the ball back off Zaha.
A lot went through him as Albion enjoyed plenty of early possession and stretched play. But it developed into a test of defending and looking to spark counter raids.
Yves Bissouma 8
Among those who put in an immense effort. So busy as a screen ahead of the back line and worked hard to keep an eye on the influential Milivojevic.
Not a night when things really happened for him but showed persistence at least to win the penalty which started the madness. Replaced early in the second half.
Started the game well and was working hard to unlock the defence before being the unlucky victim when Duffy was sent off.
The calmest man at the Amex as he guided home the ice-breaking penalty high past Hennessey. Injured and replaced soon after.
Subs
Leon Balogun: Went on to replace dismissed Duffy but filled in for injured Murray with a goalscoring first touch. 7
Florin Andone: A goal which will be treasured for years and which offered invaluable insurance for the second half. 8
Anthony Knockaert: Sent on it seemed primarily to defend and counter. 7
