DALE STEPHENS admits his place is under threat from Yves Bissouma in Albion's engine room.

The midfielder returned to the starting line-up to make his 150th start for the club in yesterday's 2-1 home defeat by Chelsea.

Goals by Pedro and Eden Hazard, after Willian pounced on Leon Balogun's misplaced pass, ruined Stephens' first start for five weeks following suspension and the international break.

He told The Argus: "We've got a good squad. It's tough for the manager to pick a team. He (Balogun) is in the team now and playing well.

"In my position too, there's Biss who has come in and done very well. He was probably unfortunate not to play. We are happy with the squad we've got and everyone is fighting for each other.

"It's nice to have so many starts for one club. I've enjoyed my time here and hopefully I can have many more."

Hazard wrecked Albion at the Amex for the second time this year. He was on target twice in Chelsea's 4-0 romp in January and, as well, as scoring yesterday, the Belgian magician provided the assist for Pedro's opener.

Stephens said: "He's up there with the best players in the world but their team's full of quality. You can't really go man-marking one player when they have got a team full of top players. He's a game changer and he showed that."
