Albion boss Chris Hughton says they will miss Mathew Ryan after confirming the Australian keeper links up with his country in the morning for the Asian Cup.

Ryan made outstanding saves from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang either side of the Premier League top scorer's early breakthrough for Arsenal in the 1-1 draw at the Amex.

Hughton revealed to The Argus: "Maty will go in the morning. We will miss him because he has been very good for us but we've also got two other, I think, very good goalkeepers (David Button and Jason Steele). It's an opportunity now for one of them."

Ryan retreated to push over Aubameyang's lob before he scored, then foiled the Gabon marksman at 1-0 with a one-handed stop when he was clean through.

Hughton said: "They were both very good and very valuable saves. That stage of the game was Arsenal's best spell."

Button is favourite to replace Ryan at home to Everton on Saturday after he was back on the bench against at Steele's expense against the Gunners.
