Jurgen Locadia was delighted to get off the mark for the season with a Boxing Day strike for Albion.
But he felt his side had chances to then go ahead against Arsenal.
Locadia moved swiftly on to an error by defender Stephen Lichsteiner to supply a cool finish in the 1-1 draw at the Amex.
He was close to giving his side the lead with an angled shot in the second half.
Davy Propper and Solly March had even better openings as the Seagulls attacked the North Stand.
Locadia, who impressed wide on the left, said: “We started not so good and Arsenal scored the first goal and Maty (Ryan) saved us with some big saves again.
“Luckily, I scored the 1-1 and from there we tried to play football, like we always do.
“We created a couple of chances, also.”
