How Albion's players rated in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

MATHEW RYAN 8

What developed into an enthralling contest might not have been possible without two fabulous saves from Aubameyang, up high at 0-0 and low down to his right at 1–0.

MARTIN MONTOYA 7

Lost Aubameyang once but possibly his best match yet for the club, both defensively and showing the attacking side of his game for which he is renowned in Spain.

The Argus:

SHANE DUFFY (above) 7

Back from a ban and initially found Aubameyang’s movement a real challenge. Became more dominant and assured as the contest went on.

LEON BALOGUN 7

Hesitant in the build-up to Arsenal’s goal and, like Duffy, found Aubameyang elusive in those worrying early stages. But got better and better as the match progressed.

BERNARDO 7

Some great work with and without the ball and is adept in tight spaces. Got away with two bad errors late in the contest, one of which he rescued himself by tracking back.

The Argus:

PASCAL GROSS (above) 7

Almost an inside-right when attacking and part of a line of five without the ball. His lung-bursting charge forward contributed to the Albion goal.

DALE STEPHENS 8

Skipper for the day and a quarterback figure in central midfield. Enjoyed himself and played a couple of terrific long passes, one of which put March in the clear.

DAVY PROPPER 7

Possibly intended for Gross but his raking, enterprising pass led to the leveller. Was quite creative and should probably have scored himself in the second half.

The Argus:

SOLLY MARCH (above) 7

Mixed fare wide on the right but he certainly saw plenty of the ball and made a clever run in behind for the chance he then tamely lobbed over in the quest for a winner.

GLENN MURRAY 7

Was he denied a legitimate goal? Either way, that moment was one of many in which his persistence and intelligence made him a pain for the Arsenal rearguard.

JURGEN LOCADIA 9

Pace, desire and a very accomplished finish brought him his merited goal. It was noticeable from early on that the ball tended to stick when it went in his direction.

SUBS

FLORIN ANDONE: Sent on late and almost engineered a winner in the final seconds as he forced his way along the byline.

ANTHONY KNOCKAERT: A few industrious minutes with and without the ball down the left.
