Albion winger Solly March has owned up to a missed chance to beat the club he supported as a boy.

March was put through by Dale Stephens in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the Amex.

Gunners keeper Bernd Leno was stranded off his line but March's attempted chip from the edge of the area carried too much weight and sailed over the bar.

March, on target against Chelsea in the previous home game, told The Argus: "It was probably the right decision, just too much on it, which was disappointing. You need to take your chances to beat teams like this and it was me that didn't take it.

"It's nice playing against the club you supported as a kid. I wouldn't say I support them now!

"They are a top club and we did well to stop them playing as well as they can."

Keeper Mathew Ryan regarded the result as two points dropped for Albion after losing beforehand against Burnley, Chelsea and Bournemouth.

March said: "I can see what he is saying. Second half we played a lot better, got at them more, got on top of them and made them kick it long which was our game plan really.

"Matty made some great saves as well. We could have won the game, it could have gone either way, so a point is probably a good result in the end.

"After the three games a point was probably the minimum required. I agree with Matty, we could have won it in the end."

March has been on the right flank in the last two games with Jurgen Locadia, who scored the equaliser against Arsenal, on the left.

March has also played on the left and in the No.10 role this season when Pascal Gross was injured.

The Argus: March and Glenn Murray (above) will try to maintain their records of being involved in every Premier League game against Everton at the Amex on Saturday.

They are the only two in that category now that ever-present Ryan has gone to the Asian Cup with Australia.
