Albion boss Chris Hughton has played down Unai Emery's bottle kick at the Amex.

The Arsenal manager has been charged by the FA for kicking a bottle which struck a supporter in the second half of the Boxing Day draw at the Amex.

Emery said sorry immediately and several times after but the FA have still charged him with improper conduct.

Hughton said: "The fact they have charged him is because there will have been other circumstances in the past where they have done exactly the same.

"There's a precdent there. As regards the incident, Unai you could see moments afterwards was very apologetic. There was certainly no malice and he has apologised on a few occasions.

"I think most people in football have taken it for what it is, a little bit of frustration. He did the right things straight away and I think any fines from the FA it's probably just down to protocol and what they have done with other managers in the past."
