CHRIS Hughton expects a much stiffer test at West Ham second time around as he weighs up whether to recall Glenn Murray to terrorise them again.

The Albion boss has to choose tonight between Florin Andone and Murray, who scored twice in the 3-0 win at the London Stadium last season.

Murray also struck in both wins at the Amex against the Hammers since then.

He has a similar record to former team-mate Chris Wood, whose goal for Burnley in the Hammers' second Premier League defeat out of three on Sunday lifted his tally against them to five in four games.

West Ham are 11th despite those recent setbacks and Hughton anticipates a harder examination than the slightly flattering 3-0 victory 15 months ago.

He told The Argus: "It was an emphatic win but I also remember the two centre-halves had to defend really well, deal with a lot of crosses.

"Glenn got the first one and Jose (Izquierdo) scored a wonderful goal, it was almost like one of those games that everything went our way.

"It was a memorable one but they have certainly come on since then. All we want to do is be right in the game but they are a very good team at the moment.

"It will absolutely be a more difficult game than last year. They will start as favourites, they are at home, and we will have to make sure we turn up."

The match has special significance for Hughton, who was born and bred in West Ham territory and played for them after his long spell at Spurs.

"I spent nearly all of my career at Tottenham but I was born just down the road from the new stadium," he said. "My parents still live close to the old stadium (Upton Park), so it is the area that I spent probably the first 20 years of my life.

"So yes it does have that extra feeling. But it doesn't change the fact that it's exactly the same as any other game, you want to win because there are three points at stake and you want the best opportunity you can to get them."
