ALBION boss Chris Hughton is excited by the potential of Yves Bissouma.

Hughton believes the young Mali midfielder will get even better once his English improves.

Bissouma scored his first goal for the club from long range in the FA Cup third round win at Bournemouth.

Midfield rival Dale Stephens told The Argus last week Bissouma is "one of the best players I've played with".

Now Hughton has hinted Albion have a gem on their hands in the 22-year-old summer signing from Lille in France.

Hughton told The Argus: "He is still learning. He is a wonderful talent, probably one of the most talented players that we've had here.

"But it's just about nurturing that one. He is still young, he is still learning the language and he will get better.

"I hope so. The game, particularly in the position he plays, is about a lot of aspects and you have got to do enough of those aspects well.

"At the moment he is still developing. I think once he gets a good grasp of the language he'll improve."

Bissouma made his full debut when Albion lost 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield in August.

Hughton is weighing up whether to include him for Saturday's visit to the Amex by the Premier League table-toppers after making eight changes for the 3-1 victory at Bournemouth.

Hughton is likely to revert back to most, if not all, of the team that drew 2-2 at West Ham last week.
