ALBION defender Bernardo faces missing out against Manchester United as well as Liverpool.

The Brazilian defender has been sidelined from Liverpool's visit tomorrow by a hamstring injury.

It forced him off in the closing stages of the 2-2 draw in the Seagulls' last Premier League outing at West Ham and has brought to end a run of nine straight appearances.

Bernardo is also already a doubt for the trip to Old Trafford a week tomorrow.

Manager Chris Hughton told The Argus: "I think he would probably be touch and go. It is a hamstring strain that he has.

"It's a minor one, which is the good news, so it is going to be about how he responds."

Gaetan Bong makes his first Premier League start since November in place of Bernardo after featuring in last Saturday's FA Cup win at Bournemouth.

Hughton said: "One thing we are always talking to the players and telling them about is their level of training.

"Gaetan didn't play in the first game (at Watford) but after that played probably the next eight or nine, then Bernardo got into the team and has done really well.

"In that period of time Gaetan has trained really well, hence when he gets his opportunity last Saturday I thought he was one of our best players."
