Albion are interested in Argentinos Juniors midfield prospect Alexis Mac Allister, The Argus understands.
They are expected to beat Boca Juniors to the signature of the 20-year-old midfielder, son of former Argentina international left-back Carlos Javier Mac Allister.
Mac Allister junior was called up by Argentina under-20s after making his debut for Juniors in October 2016.
He has played for them in the South American country's top flight.
If Albion clinch his signature he is likely to start off in Simon Rusk's under-23s.
