Aaron Connolly was stretchered off injured as Albion under-23s produced another recovery to draw 1-1 against Liverpool's ten men at the Kirkby Arena tonight.

Connolly pulled up eight minutes from time after he was the victim in the first half of a red card challenge by Ki-Jana Hoever.

Haydon Roberts (below) headed an 87th minute equaliser to snatch a sixth draw of the season for Simon Rusk's side and keep them three points ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League 2 table.

The Argus: Albion fell behind in the 11th minute, Rafa Camacho firing in from the edge of the area.

Camacho and 16-year-old Dutch central Hoever were involved in Liverpool's FA Cup exit at Wolves last week.

Hoever hauled down the clean through Connolly, who was also forced off injured in the draw against Arsenal last week.

Albion were captained by Max Sanders, an unused sub for the first team against Liverpool at the Amex on Saturday.

Teddy Jenks and Ryan Longman were called up from the under-18s after the Arsenal stalemate.

Viktor Gyokeres, who began on the bench on his return from senior international duty with Sweden, replaced Longman for the second half.

Albion (4-3-3): Keto; A. Davies, Ostigard, O'Hora, Cochrane; Roberts, Sanders, Jenks (Tomlinson 63); Longman (Gyokeres 46), Connolly (Ljubicic 82), Gwargis.

Subs: Collings, Tanimowo.
