MARTIN MONTOYA wants to wipe out a bad Old Trafford memory and deny three mates another win.

The Albion right-back is expected to start against a Manchester United side who have won six out of six under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Montoya is relishing the chance to appear on one of the Premier League’s biggest stages – almost seven years on.

But he admits the Theatre of Dreams offers only a nightmare memory.

Montoya was left out of Spain’s final group game at the 2012 Olympics, with Cesar Azpilicueta taking his place.

He then saw his nation draw 0-0 with Morocco to bow out of the Games.

Montoya would take a draw this time – but not a miserable trip home. He told The Argus: “I was at Old Trafford in the Olympics in 2012 against Morocco and it’s a really nice ground.

“Not such good memories, though – bad because they knocked us out of the group phase.

“We drew 0-0 and ended up third in our group.

“I’ve played with Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and David De Gea in national teams, both under-21s and the Olympics. All three were there with me as colleagues at Old Trafford. Hopefully I get better memories this time.”

De Gea, who started that Olympic fixture, and Ander Herrera, who went on at half-time, have been key for United of late.

But Mata, who also played against Morocco, has only featured in two league games under Solskjaer.

Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic both missed United’s training session yesterday for reasons which were not specified. Matic’s wife Aleksandra gave birth to a baby girl earlier this week.

Eric Bailly is available again after a three-match ban but Marcos Rojo is not expected to figure.
