ALBION are still hot on the trail of Argentinian midfield prospect Alexis Mac Allister.

Talks are ongoing to thrash out a deal for the 20-year-old with his club Argentinos Juniors.

The Argus confirmed last week Albion's interest in Mac Allister.

The Seagulls are excited by his potential but a complex deal is yet to be finalised.

Signing Argentinian players can be difficult to get over the line, as Albion discovered three years ago when they pursued Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri

Mac Allister, keen on a move to Europe, would probably be loaned out to gain more first team experience, having played for Juniors in the Argentinian top flight.

His family roots in Scotland could also help with the work permit process.

Meanwhile, Markus Suttner completes a loan move today to German Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The Austrian left-back is in Albion's Premier League squad but has not been involved this season following the summer signing of Brazilian Bernardo, who has shared the position with Gaetan Bong.

Right-back Ezequiel Schelotto is in a similar situation to Suttner after the summer capture of Martin Montoya, who has taken over from skipper and fellow Spaniard Bruno.

Hughton confirmed: "Schelotto is another that will possibly go out on loan."

He is being linked with Italian Serie A clubs SPAL and Empoli.

Prolific Republic of Ireland striker Aaron Connolly has revealed he is out for two months with a hamstring injury sustained in Monday's draw for the under-23s at Liverpool.
