'Weirdo' Shane Duffy has pledged to prevent Albion’s chances going down the toilet at Old Trafford.

The Republic of Ireland central defender has a bizarre toilet choice superstition before every game.

Duffy revealed to The Argus: “It started a couple of years ago. If there are three cubicles and somebody is in my one I have to wait. Sometimes I move them across and say get out of there.

“It’s weird isn’t it? But they (team-mates) all know.

“I don’t pick until I get to the ground. I wait until then. I pick one and stick to it.

“When I go to Old Trafford I’ll do the same, I’ll pick one. It’s the weirdest superstition, I know, I get a few looks of course.”

Duffy is vital at both ends of the pitch to Albion’s hopes of dumping on Manchester United’s six-match unbeaten run under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He is second top scorer behind Glenn Murray with four goals and bagged his first in the Premier League when United were beaten 3-2 at the Amex in August.

Duffy said: “I’m excited about it. I’m not going there with any fear.

“I’m going to enjoy it and try and get a result against a top, top team.

“Everybody is excited about Man United at the moment and the stadium will be full.

“Going to Old Trafford and winning would be a big thing to do. Not many teams go there and win.

“It would be a special thing in my career - a memory that would always stand out “It’s one I’m looking forward to. I’ve had a few chances now so I’m hoping for third time lucky.

“We need to start picking up wins again.

“We have to go into every game thinking we can win it and that’s what we’ll do.

“They do concede a few goals. Hopefully we can go there and score, maybe from set pieces.”
