Brian Owen and Andy Naylor rate the Albion players in the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
DAVID BUTTON 7: Not as troubled as he might have expected to be. Made a fine one-on-one save when Martial was clean through.
MARTIN MONTOYA 7: Neat, tidy and competitive with half an eye on going forward. Caught out once, when Martial got in behind.
SHANE DUFFY 8: Another impressive display at the back, including a goal-saving header to deny Rashford, which would have been crowned by a set-piece goal.
LEWIS DUNK 7: A generally good performance in which the highlight and lowlight came in quick succession- a great tackle on Martial following a lapse which let in Lingard.
GAETAN BONG 6: A busy afternoon will be remembered for the tangle which brought United their spot-kick breakthrough. Got forward quite well.
PASCAL GROSS 7: Deeper role has left him in some difficult situations defensively. Took his goal well, his first in open play this season.
DALE STEPHENS 7: Remains a reassuring presence (above), much of his work of the type that largely goes unnoticed. Might have done more with late, set-up header inside the box.
DAVY PROPPER 7: Made some promising forward runs and it was a delightful cross with the outside of his right-foot for Gross's goal, his first assist of the season.
SOLLY MARCH 6: Pass for Murray should have produced a sixth assist of the campaign. Could have made more of other positions to shoot or set up a team-mate.
GLENN MURRAY 6: He was onside when he had a good opportunity to equalise for 1-1. Indicative of the type of barren spell all goal scorers go through.
JURGEN LOCADIA 6: Not at quite the same level he has been during his recent run of form. Crossing could have been better and one or two questions defensively.
Subs
ANTHONY KNOCKAERT: Buzzed around.
FLORIN ANDONE: Warm-up for the Cup.
BERAM KAYAL: Few minutes in late push.
