The VAR system will be used for Albion's FA Cup fifth round tie at home to Derby a week tomorrow.

Video assistant referees operated in the Seagulls' third round win at Bournemouth and in the first meeting against West Brom at the Amex in round four.

The system was not used in Wednesday's replay in the West Midlands. Referee Paul Tierney missed an elbowing offence by Florin Andone and Albion's Romanian striker was subsequently charged with violent conduct by the FA.

A verdict is expected this evening.

VAR was used last season in Albion's third round FA Cup win against Crystal Palace and the quarter-final defeat at Manchester United, as well as this season's Carabao Cup clash at home to Southampton.
