Albion are a little fortunate to be through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Now they need to make the most of it at home to Derby, particularly the players not featuring regularly in Chris Hughton's Premier League line-up.

Florin Andone cannot help them. He has ended up with the same retrospective punishment from the FA, a three-match ban, as he would have received if referee Paul Tierney had sent him off for catching Sam Field in the face with an elbow in last week's fourth round replay at West Brom.

The Baggies are entitled to feel aggrieved, because Andone (below) not only stayed on the pitch, he saved the Seagulls by equalising to force extra-time.

The Argus: If Chris Hughton's side had been reduced to ten men midway through the first half, the outcome might have been different.

Now another Championship club, Frank Lampard's Derby, stand between Albion and a quarter-final appearance for the second season running and perhaps even better, given luck of the draw with so many Premier League rivals knocked out.

I watched the first game against West Brom at the Amex from Dubai. Nobody, with the exceptions of Dan Burn and Viktor Gyokeres when he came on, provided Hughton with selection food for thought with their performances in that 0-0 draw.

Opportunity is knocking again, especially after the Burnley defeat and the return to Premier League action at Leicester ten days after Derby.

Those on the fringes can stake a claim. They need to seize the moment.
