JURGEN LOCADIA says his big match experience with PSV Eindhoven helped him cope with the pressure cooker atmosphere at Millwall.

The Dutch striker made two vital contributions after coming off the bench in the second half at the Den when Albion were 2-0 down.

He halved the deficit two minutes from the end of normal time with a smart finish on the turn and calmly converted his penalty, Albion’s second in the shoot-out, after Glenn Murray missed.

Locadia, who was also on target in the fifth round win against Derby, said: “You come into a very intense game and a very intense Millwall.

“You’ve just got to play your game and show the quality that you’ve got.

“It was a great finish, but the team performance is more important.

“I’ve played in the Champions League in Holland against Atletico (Madrid), but I’m used to it and you’ve just got to go there and score the penalty. That’s the only job you’ve got.

“I didn’t expect it to be like this, it’s a new experience for me. Thumbs up to the fans that travelled for us and it’s a big team performance.

“We showed that in a lot of games, but it was very important for us to show character.”

Locadia, brought back into the squad as a sub at the eleventh hour at Crystal Palace after Florin Andone was injured in the warm-up, is now looking forward to a Wembley semi-final against Manchester City, when the pressure will be off Albion.

He said: “It’s a difficult draw, but you’ve got to go there and enjoy the game. It’s a new experience for everybody to go to Wembley. For the fans and our families.

“It’s City and they’re a good team. You’ve got to enjoy the game and not think about other things.”
