Jurgen Locadia wants to prove Chris Hughton wrong – by forcing his way back into Albion's starting eleven.

The Dutch attacker lost his place after a run of games.

He was left out of the squad completely for the last Premier League match at Crystal Palace, only to be reprieved with a place on the bench when Florin Andone pulled out injured in the warm-up.

Locadia came on and got Albion back into the tie in the closing stages of the FA Cup quarter-final comeback at Millwall on Sunday.

His first away goal for the club added to five at home, including in the previous round against Derby, as the former PSV forward reminded Hughton of his hunger to succeed.

Locadia told The Argus: "We've got a lot of players and a lot of players with good qualities. At the end of the day the coach has got to make a decision.

"If you fall out (of the squad) you've got to keep believing in yourself, keep showing up at training and give 100 per cent and show that he is wrong.

"That's the only job I've got to do, to show the coach that he's wrong. We've got quality players, so I think it's difficult also for him to make a decision."

The extent of Locadia's involvement in Albion's return to action against fellow strugglers Southampton at the Amex on March 30 could be affected by the speed of Andone's recovery from aggravating a thigh injury.

Albion's Sussex Senior Cup tie against Bognor, scheduled for tonight at Nyewood Lane (7.45pm) has been postponed until April 9 due to Bognor's injury crisis.

It will now be staged at the Sussex FA's Culver Road headquarters in Lancing (7.15).
