YVES BISSOUMA is "in the frame" for a shot at Manchester City at Wembley.

The Mali midfielder has a chance of playing in next month's FA Cup semi-final.

Bissouma's influence over the Seagulls' run in the competition was halted by suspension.

The 22-year-old had played in every round until the quarter-final comeback at Millwall, scoring at Bournemouth and setting up both goals to beat Derby.

Bissouma also picked up his second FA Cup booking against Derby to become a victim of a new ban rule introduced this season.

Boss Chris Hughton told The Argus: "It just goes to show that on any bookings you've got to be mindful. Can you avoid them? Some you can, some you can't.

"At least it puts him in the frame to still be in this Cup competition.

"It was very disappointing (for him) because he has been playing the last few games.

"His English is getting better, he is getting more used to the way we play and the levels here.

"So I'm pleased that it puts him in the frame with everybody else."

Hughton believes the FA should reconsider the ban for two bookings regulation if enough clubs are opposed to it.

He said: "As I think with all rule changes, once it's assessed and there is a big enough call by clubs who think it's a disadvantage and not fair, then it should be looked at.

"You don't want to see players missing any games, particularly when you are getting into different stages of the FA Cup, and I've always felt that."

Bruno, Martin Montoya, Bernardo, Dale Stephens and Jurgen Locadia will not be at risk against Manchester City of missing the final.

They are all on one booking but the slate is wiped clean after the quarter-finals.
