Albion could face the striker who made them pay the penalty at Southampton earlier in the season.
Danny Ings is back in contention for Saints' key visit to the Amex on Saturday.
The former Liverpool forward has been recovering from hamstring trouble.
Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "Danny has trained for two weeks now with the first team. Last week we had a friendly game and he played for 45 minutes without problems.
"We will see if he is an option for the starting 11 but I am happy that he is back in training.
"It is important that we gave him all the time he needs. He has quality and is flexible in his play."
Ings scored from the spot after he was fouled by a combination of Dale Stephens and Gaetan Bong when the teams met at St Mary's earlier in the season.
Albion hit back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 through Shane Duffy and a Glenn Murray penalty.
