BERAM KAYAL has revealed his frustration at being left out of Albion’s Wembley squad.

The Israeli midfielder was not in the matchday 18 for the FA Cup semi-final exit against Manchester City.

Kayal, who started all five ties leading up to the semi-final, posted a triple emoji of a man shrugging on his Twitter account before the game.

Boss Chris Hughton told The Argus: “I’m the manager and I have to make decisions as regards the team that plays and the subs. Sometimes the subs can be as hard as picking the starting eleven.”

Hughton had three outfield defenders on the bench in Bruno, Gaetan Bong and Dan Burn.

He also had three attackers – Florin Andone, Jose Izquierdo and Jurgen Locadia – who were all used.

Hughton said: “I have no problem admitting it, it’s more important against a Man City that you are compact and defend well than it is if you attack well because if you make it an open, attacking game there is only one winner.

“If you are able to defend well, are compact and play on the break – which I think we did – anything can happen.

“We are not the only ones. Everybody outside the top six has to approach particularly Man City in a different way.”
