Albion fought like dogs again in their battle for Premier League survival - only to be denied by a Great Dane.
Christian Eriksen's 88th minute strike from 20 yards denied the Seagulls a second successive 0-0 away draw at Tottenham's new stadium after holding Wolves on Saturday.
Skipper Lewis Dunk was outstanding as Chris Hughton's side did him proud on his return to the club he served for 21 years as a player and coach.
Shane Duffy should have headed them in front early in the second half. Toby Alderweireld hit a post and another heroic display of defending looked like paying off until Eriksen pounced.
The result leaves Albion three points ahead of Cardiff with three games to go and a much better goal difference.
They will have to shrug off the late blow and regroup for Saturday's huge home game against Newcastle.
