Chris Hughton has labelled Albion's last-gasp defeat at Spurs as heartbreaking.
The Seagulls were on course for a hard-earned point against his old club until Christian Eriksen's 88th minute shot.
Hughton said: "That's very much the feeling (heartbreaking). We had a little bit of fortune go our away, they hit the post, we defended well.
"The longer it went I thought we would hold out if we had managed the game better at the end. I thought the centre-halves were both excellent."
Relegation-haunted Albion will be trying to end a 10.5 hour goal drought against Newcastle, another of Hughton's former clubs, in a crucial game at the Amex on Saturday.
He said: "It's a pressurised situation but we have put ourselves in it and we have to deal with it. We have an opportunity now at home against Newcastle."
