Albion are eyeing a record attendance at the Amex.

The club hope to pull in more than 5,000 fans as their women’s team host Arsenal in FA WSL on Sunday (12.15pm).

More than 3,000 tickets have already been sold for a match which would see Arsenal crowned champions if they win.

The Gunners hold the current WSL record, which is 5,052 for their game against Chelsea in 2012.

Albion boss Hope Powell said: “I think we are set to break that and, if we are, fantastic.

“That’s testimony to what the club are trying to do to promote the game, testimony to the girls and the way they are trying to be better players and testimony to the fans who really value women’s football.

“If we break it, I would be delighted."

Tickets priced £3 for adults and £1 concessions remain on sale at brightonandhovealbion.com/tickets. Prices rise to £5 and £2 on the day. Tickets are also on sale for England's friendly against New Zealand at the Amex on June 1, their final fixture before setting off to the World Cup.
