Beram Kayal is hoping he will be fit for the last two games of the season.

The midfielder went off early in the second half after feeling his hamstring early in the match.

He opted to give it a go after half-time treatment but that did not last for long.

But he would love to be involved against Arsenal and Manchester City over the next fortnight.

Kayal revealed: “I felt my hamstring a bit in the first ten or 15 minutes.

“I tried to continue but I felt like it was getting worse.

“They gave me some treatment after 45 minutes but they gave me the information that I don’t need to risk it. Let’s hope it is not in a bad way.

“We will see on Monday how it will be for the games coming up.”

Speaking at Albion's awards dinner last night, boss Chris Hughton said: "At the time we were relatively confident it wasn't a hamstring pull.

"We were confident it was just fatigue, just tight. At the moment, I haven't been given an update and generally, if it was something more, I would have been. I'm hoping it will be okay."

Kayal’s first league start since November meant he was part of a first-half display which surprised most who watched it.

He said: “For a while we didn’t start games well. Today I was in the team so I’m one of those players.

“As a team, we need to be more angry about ourselves, press higher, don’t let the other team come here to the Amex and play simple passes.

“When you give any team in the Premier League, with the quality they have to open the game and play simple passes, they are going to make it a hard afternoon for you.

“We need to make sure we don’t give them this time on the ball, pressing high.”
