Pep Guardiola has praised Bruno on his “incredible career”.
The Albion skipper will hang up his boots after Sunday’s game against Guardiola’s title-chasing Manchester City.
Bruno grew up as a fan of fellow Catalan Guardiola, who was a key midfielder with Barcelona.
The two almost teamed up when Bruno was playing for Almeria.
Guardiola and his staff at the Camp Nou scouted him but a deal never quite happened.
The City boss said: “Bruno played at Almeria when I was at Barcelona. We were linking him to come there. In the end it didn’t happen and he had an incredible career in England.
“He’s 38 years old but he is an incredible professional, he is fit.
“When he decides to retires, it’s that he feels this is the moment.
“Hopefully we can make a good game for his last game and, after the game, I’m going to congratulate him on his incredible career.”
