BRUNO is taking the first steps in his footballing life after playing.

Albion’s outgoing club captain heads to Belfast today to start an intensive UEFA coaching course.

The skipper played his final match against Manchester City eight days ago but remains under contract until June 30.

Albion would love him to stay at the club.

Bruno does not know whether a career in coaching or management will appeal but is taking both B and A licences over the next fortnight.

The Belfast course is highly regarded and was previously taken by Bruno’s close friend and former team-mate Liam Rosenior.

Bruno has used social media to thank fans for their emotional send-off against City.

He wrote: “A week ago I had the best sports experience that you can have, to feel the respect and love from all of you. Thanks for the best send-off I could have ever have imagined. We do things differently!”

He added the hashtag #OnceASeagullAlwaysASeagull, in reference to his farewell speech to supporters at the Amex.
