Yves Bissouma has had a bit of fun with one of the summer’s hottest transfer stories – by inviting Nicolas Pepe to Albion.
The Lille attacking midfielder is expected to go for big money over the next few weeks, be it to Paris-St Germain or away from France.
Pepe and Bissouma were colleagues at Lille and remain friends.
Bissouma offered a cheeky tweet to Pepe, saying: “Supporters want me to take you to Brighton, do you agree?”
The question sparked plenty of light-hearted replies from fans.
Pepe himself sent back a mocked up photo of himself in an Albion shirt, with the words “Is that good?” and two laughing emojis.
The 24-year-old scored 22 goals and added 11 assists to help take Lille from a relegation scrap to second place and the Champions League.
France Football magazine this week described his future as "Paris against the world". But chances are they didn't include Falmer in that.
