Albion duo Shane Duffy and Beram Kayal enjoyed good nights as their countries picked up away points.

Duffy headed an 85th-minute equaliser as Republic of Ireland secured an impressive 1-1 draw away to Denmark in their Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Kayal was involved in one of Eren Zahavi’s three goals as Israel won 3-0 in Latvia.

Duffy beat Danish keeper Kasper Schmeichel with a typically powerful finish from an inswinging free-kick delivered by Alan Judge to take the Irish on to seven points from three matches.

His downward header gave him his third goal for his country.

Denmark have opened with two draws but looked set for full points 15 minutes from time when sub Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg got in front of Richard Keogh to head home from 11 yards.

Albion fans will also be pleased to hear Kayal shone in midfield for Israel.

His carefully chipped crossfield pass led to the second of Zahavi’s three goals.

Israel coach Andreas Herzog took Kayal off on 73 minutes, seemingly to save his legs for the next match against Poland, there being no apparent injury concern.
