Albion have three players through to the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Percy Tau has joined Gaetan Bong (Cameroon) and Leon Balogun (Nigeria) in the knockout stages after South Africa sneaked out of the groups as one of the four best third-placed teams.
They were sweating on Angola avoiding defeat tonight against Mali, who are without injured Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.
That would have dumped them out but Angola lost 1-0, so South Africa have still progressed after their last-gasp defeat by Morocco in their final group game.
Tau will now coliide with Mo Salah, as South Africa face hosts Egypt in the last 16.
Gaetan Bong was an unused substitute as Cameroon, already assured of a knockout spot, drew 0-0 against Benin in their group phase finale.
