Eastburne B 3, Sutton United 0.

Eastbourne Borough stormed to the top of the Conference south with a 3-0 home victory against Sutton.

Garry Wilson's men did not have it all their own way but goals from Pat Harding, Paul Armstrong and Matt Smart ensured victory.

Boro had a chance after just six minutes when Andy Atkin's cross found Pat Harding but his crisp left-foot shot was deflected just wide.

Sutton's Tony Quinton had a fierce drive well blocked by Lee Hook before Jason Henry showed good skills to release Craig Watkins, who was denied by a tremendous last-ditch tackle by Darren Baker.

Boro scored on 29 minutes against the run of play when Atkin's cutback found Ramsay, who dummied for Matt Crabb, whose shot ricocheted to Harding to score at the second attempt.

Skipper Paul Armstrong added a second two minutes later after bursting through the middle and calmly finished past Paul Wilson.

Sutton came out strongly but did not get the goal their ambition deserved. Hook saved well from Henry and Warren McBean saw his header crash back off the bar.

Boro gt the killer third on 69 minutes when Matt Smart's left foot shot found a bottom corner.

Smart conceded a penalty for a foul on McBean but Hook saved from Tanner.
