Glenn Murray believes Albion have not yet revealed their full hand as they prepare for the new season.
The long-serving striker was at the sharp end of a 4-2-3-1 set-up against Fulham in last Saturday’s friendly.
But head coach Graham Potter is renowned for his tactical flexibility.
Murray expects Albion to change their game for different opponents.
That could happen when they continue pre-season at Birmingham City tomorrow.
Murray told The Argus: “Possibly but the system will be adaptable.
“We felt as though Solly (March) and Jurgen (Locadia) could get a little bit more ball infield because Fulham were playing a 4-1-4-1 formation and we felt they could get in the pockets there.
“If we come up against different formations, we have got to be adaptable.
“That might mean Dale (Stephens) is getting on the ball more and Davy (Propper).
“It is all a learning curve.”
Gaetan Bong and Leon Balogun are not yet due to return to action after the Africa Cup of Nations.
