Chris Jordan is aiming for a club and country double after a special moment at Lord’s.
The Sussex star handed colleague and close friend Jofra Archer his England cap ahead of the delayed second Ashes Test.
Jordan will call in at St John’s Wood this morning after the opening day was washed out.
Then all focus will be on the Oval, where unbeaten Sharks face Surrey in the Vitality Blast (6.30pm).
Jordan told the Argus: “Hopefully England bowl in the morning so I can see Jofra enjoy himself early.
“Then all my focus goes on to our game at the Oval.
“I’m sure the delayed start won’t affect Jofra.
“He will just have gone away and got another good night’s sleep.”
England supporters are looking to Archer to revive their team’s fortunes after a heavy first Test defeat at Edgbaston.
But Jordan said: “The most important thing to him will be what is being said within the team.
“They know his qualities, he knows his own qualities.
“He has his own standards to keep up.”
The forecast for the capital is much brighter today and full houses are expected at both venues.
