Australia's Steve Smith retired hurt in today's Test at Lord's after being hit by a Jofra Archer delivery.

The Sussex paceman sent Smith tumbling to the floor after clattering him on the top of the neck with a 92.4mph delivery.

England's players were quick to show concern for their opponent as he lay on the ground.

After receiving medical treatment, Smith was soon back on his feet but left the field for further assessment.

He made 80 from 152 balls and was replaced by Peter Siddle.

Australia were 204-6 when Smith was led off to a standing ovation.

He had already been hit by another blow to the forearm shortly before from Archer.
