Sussex have signed Australian seamer Jason Behrendorff for the Vitality Blast.
The left-armer is on board for the four remaining South Group fixtures, starting at home to Essex tomorrow, as well as the quarter-finals should Sharks progress.
Behrendorff is an Australia international in 50 and 20-over formats.
He took ten wickets in the recent ICC World Cup, five coming in the win over England.
The 29-year-old said: “I can’t wait to be part of the Sharks. It’s a great opportunity and one I feel very fortunate to take on.
“It’s been a great tournament so far for Sussex, sitting on top of the southern pool. It’s always nice to come into a winning team.”
The signing is a big boost for Sussex, who have seen Rashid Khan return to Afghanistan and Tymal Mills suffer an injury setback in the last week.
Fewer than 50 tickets remained available for the Essex game this morning as tbe club headed towards another Hove sell-out.
