Albion booked their place in the third round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground.

Aaron Connolly fired Albion ahead in the 55th minute.

However Rovers levelled up nine minutes later when Tom Nicholls struck with a half-volley from just inside the box.

In stoppage time Albion went back ahead when Bernardo played the ball to Steven Alzate who fizzed the ball across and captain for the night Glenn Murray tapped home to make it 2-1.
