Albion expect to see Leandro Trossard come back and shine in the Premier League after his injury setback.

The Belgian forward is expected to be out until at least mid-October after suffering a groin injury when training with his national team.

He definitely misses the visit of Burnley tomorrow, when the Seagulls seek a first home win since March.

The injury is a setback to player and club alike.

Trossard, a summer signing from Belgian champions Genk, was hoping to build on a promising start to life in the Premier League and make his way into his national team.

Albion would love to have Trossard, the scorer of their only goal in the last three league games, fit and firing.

Head coach Graham Potter is not putting a definite date on his return but does not expect him back until after the next international break.

That would rule him out of four league games and make the trip to Aston Villa on October 19 the first match for which he could be available.

Potter said: “It’s a disappointment. We are disappointed for him and for us.

“I think he has adapted to the level really well and I think there is more to come from him.

“It’s one of those things. You have just got to use it for what it is.

“You try to get him stronger for when he comes back so he is able to play at a good level.

“But we are really happy with him and how he has contributed to the team.

“We are confident he is going to do the same when he gets back fit.”

Aaron Connolly is back from action with the Republic of Ireland under-21s and could feature against the Clarets. The Seagulls under-23s are in action tonight as they tackle Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (7pm).
