Graham Potter is looking forward to seeing Neal Maupay get up and running at the Amex.

But he is putting no pressure on his French striker to score his first home goal.

Maupay struck at Watford on the opening day after his £16 million move from Brentford.

The next landmark would be a first strike at the Amex.

Head coach Potter said: “The thing to remember with Neal is he didn’t play any pre-season games with Brentford.

“He has had a long time since the end of last season and not too much football.

“He is playing a bit of catch-up but, in training, he is looking really good, really sharp.

“I think it is a matter of time before he gets that first home goal.

“I am sure he will say the same – it’s not about him, it’s about the team, it’s about trying to find the right combination, the right options.”

Potter believes Maupay could work well with Glenn Murray.

He added: “They have got quite a good relationship on and off the pitch, which is helpful.”
